Made it two European Tour victories in as many seasons when he claimed the Nelson Mandela Championship hosted by ISPS Handa in December 2013, the fifth counting event of The 2014 Race to Dubai. With the weather-affected tournament having been reduced to 54 holes, he carded an impressive final round of 66 to claim a poignant victory the day before the funeral of the former South African president after whom the tournament was named. Won the inaugural Tshwane Open in March 2013, and immediately took up European Tour membership. Superb rounds of 68-65-67-67 left him two shots clear of compatriot Darren Fichardt, but he subsequently struggled to build on his maiden victory and finished 107th in The Race to Dubai. Turned professional in 2007, and divided his time between playing on the Sunshine Tour in his native South Africa and the Web.com Tour in the United States.
