Describes the American Ryder Cup star as “a very special player” and considers himself lucky to have come through the ranks with one of golf’s most explosive talents. Won his first European Tour card at the 2008 Qualifying School but did not keep it in 2009 and played on the Challenge Tour in 2010. Finished in 21st place on the Challenge Tour Rankings – missing out on graduation by a mere €538 – but made up for it by coming second at the Qualifying School to secure a return in 2011. Retained his playing rights that year, but struggled in 2012 and had to visit the Qualifying School Final Stage to ensure another season on The European Tour in 2013, making it on the mark to take the 27th and penultimate card. On the Challenge Tour he won the 2006 Texbond Open at Garda Golf, the former venue of the Italian Open, and the 2010 M2M Russian Challenge Cup.
