Biography

Came close to creating history in the third round of the National Car Rental English Open last year. Went to the turn in 27 and needed two birdies in the last four holes to break 60. Eventually shot 61 and tied for second place - his finishing position in the Peugeot Open de Espana. The left hander from Perth, Western Australia, finished third in the Challenge Tour Ranking in 1997 to secure his playing privileges on the European Tour. Ended 1998 with a flourish, taking fourth place in the US Tour Qualifying School before winning his first Australian Open title in December.
