Captured his maiden Challenge Tour title on only his second appearance when winning the 2010 Abierto Internacional de Golf Il Copa Antioquia. Used his local knowledge – the event was played on his home course in Medellin, Colombia – to good effect to prevail by four shots and so follow in the spikemarks of his friends Tano Goya and Alan Wagner, both of whom also won events co-sanctioned by the Challenge Tour and the Tour de las Americas. Was first introduced to the game by his father, who used an unusual method to motivate his son. “My Dad used to take me to the golf course every weekend from the age of five,” he said. “I really remember the fourth hole, which had water in front of the green. If I hit it onto the green, my Dad would always buy me a sandwich on the next tee. But if I hit my ball into the water, the kid got nothing!” Hails from the same city as Camilo Villegas.
