Barcelona-born Angles studied at the University of Central Arkansas where he broke the college’s record for the lowest round score after carding a 64. A consistent season on the Challenge Tour in 2016 saw him seal 14th spot on the Road to Oman Rankings with a runner-up finish at the Hainan Open. Announced himself to the European Tour at the Real Club Valderrama Open de España, hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation after gaining a sponsor's invite and went on to put in a solid performance in his home country, finishing the week tied for 19th after tackling tricky conditions. Was a keen motocross rider as a child but was forced to give up the sport aged 11 after his mother said it was too dangerous – so he started playing golf instead.
