Won the 1998 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year award after finishing 93rd on the Volvo Order of Merit with €96,976 (£69,269). Produced his best performance in the 1998 season in his native Paris at the Peugeot Open de France, shooting a closing 67 to win €46,566 (£33,262) - the biggest cheque of his career. Represented France in Eisenhower Trophy as an amateur. Turned pro in 1990 and finally won his card at the Qualifying School in 1997 at his fifth attempt. Fell ill during 1999 and returned in 2000 on a medical exemption, helping to secure his card by finishing tied seventh in the Volvo PGA Championship.
