Became the first Swede to win on the Senior Tour when he captured the SSE Scottish Senior Open in 2012, holding off the challenge of Philip Golding who carded consecutive rounds of 64 at the weekend. Was also a pioneer for his country on The European Tour, having represented Sweden at every level, amateur and professional. Six victories in 21 seasons made him one of the most successful golfers to emerge from Scandinavia. Led Sweden to Alfred Dunhill Cup victory in 1991 and the World Cup a month later. Enjoyed his best season in 1992, winning twice and finishing fourth on the money list. In 1993, he became the first Swedish golfer to play in all four Majors in the same year. Was one of Bernhard Langer’s assistants at The 2004 Ryder Cup.
