Started playing golf at the age of 12 at Ashford Golf Club, in Kent. Turned professional in 1996, and in 2008 he claimed his highest European Tour finish with third place in the Inteco Russian Open Golf Championship, one of two top fives of the season. It was the third successive season he had retained his playing privileges on The European Tour. He has also won twice on the Challenge Tour. A lover of all sports, he is an avid Chelsea fan and even has the club crest on his golf shoes. Also undertakes a lot of work for charity supporting the Demelza House Children’s Hospice in particular. His brainchild of Barham’s Birdie Challenge involves donating a pound for every birdie he makes. In 2008 he managed 245 birdies and five eagles and along with other charity golf days helped to raise £50,000 during the year.
