Rasmus Hjelm leads by one shot at the end of round one of the First Stage of European Tour Qualifying School at the Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course in Scotland.
The Dane got off to a flying start with six birdies on the front nine, including a fantastic run of four in a row from holes four to seven. Two more birdies after the turn were cancelled out by two bogies, as he carded a six under par 66 to finish just ahead of Jack Colgate of England.
Scotland’s Paul McKechnie is one shot further back at four under par back alongside Jack Munro of Australia and another Englishman, Lee Clarke. Peter Gustafsson of Sweden, who previously won the Qualifying School Final at San Roque in 2004, is amongst a group of five players at three under.
In the other First Stage Section A event, Jonas Koelbing made home advantage pay, taking a two shot lead at the end of round one at Golf and Country Club Fleesensee in Germany.
