Finland’s Jaako Makitalo and American Scott Pinckney lead the way at the European Tour Qualifying School First Stage at Bogogno with one round to go.
The leading duo lie on 12 under par 204 after rounds of 68 and 64 respectively to lead the line among those hoping to progress to the next stage of the process of trying to earn a European Tour card.
The target is to finish among the top 26 players and ties to progress through to the Second Qualifying Stage, to be played in the first week of December over four courses in Spain - Costa Ballena Ocean Club, Las Colinas G & CC, El Valle Golf Resort and the South Course at La Manga Club.
There were 58 players who made the cut at four over par 220 looking for that final push to make the grade.
Another four rounds await them there and then those who make the grade at the Second Qualifying Stage move on to the six-round examination of the Final Qualifying Stage at PGA Catalunya Resort, Girona, Spain from December 10-15.
