Italian Andrea Perrino and South Africa’s Allan Versfeld led 20 successful qualifiers from the Qualifying School Second Stage at La Manga Club, in Spain.
Challenge Tour Member Perrino and Versfeld both finished on 15 under par after carding respective rounds of 70 and 71 over La Manga Club’s South Course.
They were followed home by England’s Graeme A Clark (74) and Spaniard Alfredo Garcia-Heredia (68), who finished on 13 under and 12 under par respectively.
Having finished on seven under par, seven players battled it out for the final four places, with Swede Steven Jeppesen, Spaniard Adrian Otaegui, England’s James Robinson and Lukas Tintera of the Czech Republic prevailing in the play-off.
Of the quartet it was the performance of Robinson which caught the eye, with the Englishman signing for a closing round of ten under par 63 to book his place at the Final Stage, which gets underway this Thursday at PGA Catalunya Resort in Girona, Spain.
