The first lap of the European Tour Qualifying School comes to an end this week with the conclusion of the First Stage at Ribagolfe in Portugal and Frilford Heath in England.
Six venues across Europe have already hosted the First Stage, with 127 players successful negotiating the first Stage so far, and the final batch of hopeful players will be striving to follow suit at Ribagolfe and Frilford Heath over the next four days during the First Qualifying Stage Section D.
The six winners so far have included two amateurs - Tapio Pulkkanen and Edouard España – and a former US Amateur Champion Kelly Kraft.
For those lining up at Ribagolfe and Frilford Heath the goal, once again, is to progress through to the Second Qualifying Stage which takes place across four venues in Spain – Campo de Golf El Saler, Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, El Valle Golf Resort and Lumine Golf & Beach Club – from November 7-10. Approximately 310 players will line up at those four venues, with about 80 progressing through to the Final Stage at PGA Catalunya Resort – also a European Tour Course - from November 24-29.
And there the final hurdle awaits with the ultimate goal of securing a European Tour card for the 2013 season.
