Sweden’s Mikael Lundberg and Frenchman Anthony Snobeck shared the lead in the second round of The European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage, both reaching seven under par after 12 holes.
Lundberg started the day two shots off the lead held by Argentina’s Estanislao Goya, who was level par after nine in round two, but climbed to the top of the leaderboard with birdies at the tenth, 12th and 14th on the Tour course, having teed off on the back nine.
Snobeck made a superb start with three consecutive birdies on the Stadium course, the tougher of the two layouts, and picked up further shots at the eighth, 11th and 12th.
The pair lead by one from Finland’s Mikko Korhonen, who signed for a majestic eight under par 62 on the Tour course to move to six under par overall.
The top 70 and ties after four rounds will qualify for the final two rounds, played on the Stadium course, after which the top 25 and ties gain a card for The European Tour in 2013.
