Dodge Kemmer took his first step on the long road to European Tour qualification as he won the European Tour Qualifying School First Stage Section B at Ebreichsdorf Golf Club in Austria.
The American, who was co-leader after three rounds, fired a four under par 68 in the final round to claim victory, four shots ahead of France’s Clement Berardo and Sweden’s Oscar Lengden in joint-second place.
A total of 23 players qualified for the Second Stage with an overall score of three under par or better, among them overnight co-leader Kasper K Estrup, despite a final round of 78, and three local players, Austrians Christoph Koerbler, Jürgen Maurer and Lukas Nemecz.
Meanwhile, at Collingtree Park in England, South Africa’s Darryn Lloyd shot a five under par closing round of 67 to claim a one shot victory ahead of Bradley Neil.
Neil had led after the completion of the delayed third round – heavy rain on the first day meant play could not be completed on any of the first three days – and the Scot’s final round of 70 left him on ten under par, one shot ahead of third-placed Englishman Ryan O’Neill.
A total of 23 players finished on two under par or better to earn places in the Second Stage, which takes place in November across four Spanish courses.
