England’s Jimmy Mullen, who made the cut in The Open Championship in the summer and was part of the victorious Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team, won the European Tour Qualifying School Second Stage at Campo de Golf El Saler.

The 21 year old finished top of the pile at the Spanish venue, one of four hosting this week’s Second Stage, thanks to a final round four under par 68, which gave him a 16 under par total, four shots ahead of Swede Christopher Feldborg Nielsen.

Eighteen players qualified for the Final Stage, which begins on Saturday at PGA Catalunya Resort, including five-time European Tour winner Jarmo Sandelin and Frenchman Matthieu Pavon, who had the lowest round of the day – a 66 – of the qualifiers.

Elsewhere, England’s Daniel Gavins won at Lumine Golf and Beach Club, Germany’s Philipp Mejow cruised to a four stroke victory at Las Colinas Golf and Country Club, and Ireland's Brian Casey shared top spot with Spanish amateur Scott Fernandez at Panoramica.
