Sweden’s Malcolm Kokocinski was in the zone at Collingtree Park as he carded nine birdies on his way to an impressive 64 to lead the clubhouse at 12 under par, one shot clear of England’s Alex Belt at the European Tour’s Qualifying School First Stage Section B.

Birdies on six of the last seven holes set up the young Swede’s lead at the halfway point of the tournament.

Belt had a mixed day with an eagle on the ninth but with three bogeys the chance to move to the front of the pack slipped from his grasp.

Heading into day three, Englishman Simon Griffiths sits at ten under par, with country man Steve Surry and Thailand’s Gunn Charoenkul on the chase at seven under par.
