Never give up

Scott Gregory hit the headlines for all of the wrong reasons earlier this year.

After qualifying for the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills he was mocked on social media after shooting a 22 over par round of 92.

But since then the former Amateur Champion has dusted himself off, picked himself up and has come through all three stage of Q-School to get a debut season on the European Tour - some achievement!

The drama of Q-School

David Borda started like a train at Final Stage this year, opening with rounds of 65 and 62 to move clear of the rest of the field.

Since then the Spaniard has found the going a lot tougher, and today he needed to finish with a birdie to make the top 25.

Here's what he had to say about that closing hole, and the week:

"I made the best birdie of my life on 18, I really did. I was 16 under after two days and since then I have really struggled, but I would still say that this has been one of the best golfing weeks of my life."

Heating up...

The top 25 is really shaping up now. 16 under par is looking like the mark, with eight players currently sat there in tied 20th.

Of those players Chile's Hugo Leon has just made his first birdie of the day on the 18th to reach 16 under.

As you'll see below putts don't come as clutch as that!

Finshing strong

After finding a horrible lie on the 17th - which resulted in a bogey - Marc Warren bounced back with a birdie on the last to regain his European Tour status.

Here he talks about his Q-School experience:

"It is the first time I have been in contention for a card and I really underestimated how tough it is. You have no idea what you need to do and you have try and keep moving forward while trying not to make mistakes at the same time.

"It's not a pleasant way to play golf but obviously there is a reward at the end of it."

A long wait for Bergamaschi

Filippo Bergamaschi thought he was out of it with nine holes to play, but after a sensational finish - five birdies in nine holes - he has soared back into contention.

At 16 under par he's currently tied 21st, leaving him right on the mark.

Here is what he had to say after his round:

"It was amazing. I thought I needed six under at the start of the day, so felt i needed to finish with six birdies in eight holes, but I felt relaxed and then I just got going and managed to make five.

"I will just have to hold on and wait and see what will happen."

Relief for de Jager

Louis de Jager is the first man on to the European Tour today. Here's what he had to say after his round:

"It is unbelieveable. It has been a hell of a week and mentally you try to prepare as much as you can as everyone tells you it is a long week, you don't sleep much and you're quite nervous, so I'm just so glad that I have got it done."
