Bernhard Langer established a new PGA European Tour record by making the halfway cut for the 57th successive time.  Tied for the third round lead with Mark Mouland, Langer dropped a shot at the third, but recovered with a 20 foot putt for a two at the fifth.  The German moved to nine under with a birdie at the 11th, but lost a shot at the 13th to tie on eight under with Per-Ulrik Johansson and Michael Campbell, who had set the clubhouse target of 280 with an eagle-birdie-birdie-birdie finish.  Langer regained the lead with a birdie two at the 14th and parred in from there.
