Twelve months ago Australian Richard Green won his maiden title on the European Tour by holing from 12 feet at the first extra hole to win a sudden-death play-off against Greg Norman and Ian Woosnam.
Who will win the £130,000 first prize this year?
Robert Karlsson is the first round leader after having carded a flawless 66 to take him to six under par.
Just one stroke behind at five under par Ignacio Garrido, Andrew Coltart, Greg Norman and Stephen Allan are all tied for second place.

Robert Karlsson is still in the lead at the Dubai Desert Classic after three rounds completed. With four birdies in the last six holes Robert is two shots clear of Ignacio Garrido at 18 under par.

Olazabal is the winner
Jose Maria Olazabal is the winner of the 1998 Dubai Desert Classic. With four rounds in the sixties Olazabal won three shots clear of young Stephen Allan at 19 under par. Robert Karlsson and Ernie Els tied for third place at 15 under par.
