USA Regain Ryder Cup
Europe's brave bid to win the Ryder Cup for the third time in succession ended in disappointment at The Country Club, Brookline, Massachusetts, as the United States regained the trophy by the minimum margin of 14 ½ - 13 ½. The USA recovered from 6-10 down after two days of sparkling golf by the European side, led superbly by captain Mark James, to take the singles by 8 ½ - 3 ½ to capture the trophy for the first time since 1993.
