Tanaka Edges Ahead In Spain
Japan’s Hidemichi Tanaka fired a two under par 70 to open a one shot lead heading into the final round of the WGC-American Express Championship at Valderrama. But the man he and all the other challengers will have to watch is the ominous figure of Tiger Woods who returned a third round 69 and now goes into the closing 18 holes a mere two shots behind.

Price Leads In Spain
Former Open and US PGA champion, Nick Price, has not won for almost two years now but that long win-less drought might soon be coming to an end judging from the manner in which he has performed during the first two rounds of the WGC-American Express Championship at Valderrama.

Montgomerie aces his way back
Colin Montgomerie’s seven-year reign as Europe’s No. 1 golfer might come to an end at this week’s WGC-American Express Championship at Valderrama but the combative Scot is determined not to give up his title without a fight. In the second match out the Scot fired his second hole-in-one in seven days when he holed a 4-iron at the 12th on his way to recording a five under par 67.
THE PRICE IS RIGHT FOR NICK AT VALDERRAMA
Zimbabwean Nick Price has compiled some wonderful rounds in more than 20 years as a professional, including a course record 63 at Augusta National, but it is debatable this former Open and US PGA champion has ever produced as good a round of golf as he did in opening a three-shot lead in the first round of the WGC-American Express Championship at Valderrama.

Fast Start For Orr
Scotland’s Gary Orr was a man in a hurry when he opened with a one under par 71 during the first round of the WGC-American Express Championship at Valderrama in southern Spain.
New Horizons For Fulke
Sweden's Pierre Fulke, winner of last week's Volvo Masters at Montecastillo treads new ground when he competes in his first World Golf Championship event at the American Express Championship at Valderrama.
Familiar Ground For Montgomerie
Colin Montgomerie will be on familiar ground when he tees up in the opening round of the WGC-American Express Championship at Valderrama. Back in 1993 the Scotsman came to this majestic Robert Trent Jones course in southern Spain knowing that he had to win the Volvo Masters in order to secure first place on the Volvo Order of Merit and the fact that he succeeded in that aim fills him with confidence now that he has to duplicate that feat if he is to extend his reign as Europe’s No. 1.
