Grasses
Greens: Bermuda Tiff Eagle
Tees: Paspalum Salam
Fairways: Bermuda 419
Rough: Bermuda 419
Semi-Rough: Bermuda 419
Fairways
Fairways are quite tight, average 25-30 yards. There are 7 lakes that come into play on 11 holes. The fairways are cut to a height of 11mm.
Rough
The rough was last cut 3 weeks ago @ 50mm. It has grown up to 75-80mm and is very consistent. The semi-rough is cut to a height of 27mm.
Greens
Stimpmeter reading on Wednesday of tournament 10'4". The ideal speed is between 10 and 10'6" as there are greens with severe slopes. Greens are being double cut & double rolled (turf iron) every morning.
Course Details
The course is going to play a lot tougher than in November 2000 when the winning score was 25 under par. Accuaracy off the tee will be very important as the rough provides a severe penalty. 4 new tees have been built since the tournament in 2000 and there has been an extensive re-bunkering programme.
