Reuters - Englishman Luke Donald scored a hole-in-one on the par three second hole on the West Course at Wentworth Club to forge an early two stroke lead in the second round of the BMW Championship - The Players' Flagship .

Donald played a seven iron into the 146 yards hole.

No special prize was on offer for the feat but the eagle took Donald two strokes clear of compatriots Nick Dougherty and Paul Casey on the leaderboard. It was Donald's first hole-in-one on The European Tour and the 21st hole-in-one in the history of the event.

It was also only the third ace on the second hole, following Jeff Hawkes in 1997 and Paul Eales in 2003.

So far there have been 20 holes-in-one on The 2006 European Tour International Schedule.

Earlier, play was delayed an hour because parts of the course were waterlogged.
