Warren Triumphs at Barsebäck
Scotland’s Marc Warren made the leap from Challenge Tour Number One to European Tour Champion when he claimed his maiden European Tour title with a play-off victory over Sweden’s Robert Karlsson in the EnterCard Scandinavian Masters. The pair had finished regulation play at Barsebäck Golf and Country Club on ten under par 278, a stroke better than South Africa's Richard Sterne.
Karlsson Shares Lead after Course Record at Barsebäck
A course record 63 at Barsebäck catapulted Robert Karlsson into a share of the lead with Belgium’s Nicolas Colsaerts going into the final round of the EnterCard Scandinavian Masters as the Swede targets a second successive victory. Karlsson’s nine under par round, three shots better then any other player in the field on a day of swirling winds, took him to nine under par 207, a total that led all day until Colsaerts came in with a one over par 73. Fellow Swede Jarmo Sandelin lies alone in third place a shot back on eight under par 208 after an impressive 66.
Roe Enjoys Big Break to Share Lead at Barsebäck
Mark Roe’s spectacular finish to the second round propelled him into a share of the lead with Belgium’s Nicolas Colsaerts at the halfway stage of the EnterCard Scandinavian Masters with Swede Fredrik Jacobson and Scot Marc Warren leading the chase two shots back. The extrovert Roe never does much by halves but this time it was thirds as he shattered his seven iron into three pieces on his way to claiming the final hole birdie that took him alongside Colsaerts on ten under par 134 after a round of seven under par 65, only a stroke off the Barsebäck course record.
Roe Snaps Into Share of the Lead in Sweden
Reuters - Extrovert Englishman Mark Roe typically finished his EnterCard Scandinavian Masters second round in spectacular fashion to move into a share of an early two shot lead with Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts. Roe never does much by halves but this time it was thirds as he shattered his seven iron into three pieces on his way to claiming the final hole birdie that took him alongside Colsaerts on 134, ten under par, after a round of seven under par 65, only a stroke off the Barsebäck course record.
Lost Clubs but Barham puts Barsebäck to the Sword
Playing partners Benn Barham of England and Belgium’s Nicolas Colsaerts joined Scot Marc Warren at the top of the leaderboard after matching five under par 67s in the first round of the EnterCard Scandinavian Masters at Barsebäck Golf and Country Club in Sweden. Barham's was the most impressive performance of the trio, who lead the field by a stroke, as he had to play with a set of clubs made up for him after his own went missing in transit from London.

Swedes Dream of Ryder Cup Glory at Barsebäck
Sweden’s golfers were conspicuous by their absence from The 2004 Ryder Cup in the United States, but that unexpected scenario will certainly not be repeated in 2006. In fact, such has been the success of the Swedish contingent this season that four – or more – of their number could conceivably be involved at The K Club. This week, all the leading Swedish contenders for places in Ian Woosnam’s European Team will be in action on home territory in the Entercard Scandinavian Masters.
