Spaniard Ignacio Garrido led the Moravia Silesia Open presented by ALO Diamonds by one with nine to play in the Czech Republic.
The former Ryder Cup player had ended his third round with a double bogey to fall one behind England's Steve Webster, but three birdies in four holes from the fifth took him back out in front.
Garrido was 13 under and with Webster slipping down to seventh it was Swede Oskar Henningsson, winner of the Qualifying School last November, and Northern Ireland's Gareth Maybin who were one behind.
Garrido’s compatriot José Manuel Lara was about to set the clubhouse target, the 2007 UBS Hong Kong Open 11 under with just one to play.
England’s Sam Little was also 11 under but with seven holes left to try and get back on terms as a thrilling finish began to unravel.
