There is a Barry Burn MOD training centre adjacent to the 6th and 7th holes (added hazard: beware regular firing in process)
Only Open venue to be played by the legendary Ben Hogan in 1953 and there is a plaque installed at the 6th hole which is named after him - Hogan's Alley
The 2007 Open Championship was played here
