Andrew Dodt set the early pace in the third round of the Avantha Masters after three consecutive birdies saw the Australian head the leaderboard on 12 under par at DLF Golf and Country Club.

Following an early finish on Friday due to lightning, a number of players returned in the morning to complete their second rounds and Chinese Taipei's Chan Yih-shin finished as the halfway leader with a birdie on the last moving him to 11 under.

But Dodt produced a blistering start to his third round, picking up shots over his opening three holes to hold a one stroke advantage over compatriot Darren Beck, who had also enjoyed a lively beginning to his round with three birdies and a bogey after four holes.

Barry Lane, who had held the clubhouse lead overnight, remained ten under through three holes following a birdie and a bogey, while Chan had slipped back with a bogey five at the second.

Scotland's David Drysdale was also ten under thanks to a birdie two at the third, as was Japanese golfer Tetsuji Hiratsuka, who had set a new course record with a second round 62.

Englishman John Parry, meanwhile, had dropped to nine under after the 23 year old bogeyed the second.
