Other features
The course has been through a very difficult spell following the severe conditions experienced over the winter.  The greens lay under ice for several weeks and this seriously damaged the poa annua grass (meadow grass) which makes up a large percentage of the grass cover on the greens at Loch Lomond.

In March the Club decided that the most severely affected greens needed to be re-turfed as the majority of the grass had died.  The 9th green was re-turfed using grass from the club’s turf nursery which closely matches the existing greens.  As there was not enough grass left in the nursery to repair the other greens, a Colonial Bent turf was brought in and used to replace the turf on the 3rd, 11th and 17th greens. 

During May it became evident that the section of the putting green nearest the 1st tee was not recovering and it was decided to remove this and replace it with a small chipping green using the same Colonial Bent turf used on the main greens.

Given that the bent grass greens were only laid 3 months ago it is clear that they will not perform exactly the same as the other greens but the Club will be using their best endeavors to achieve as close a match as possible.
