Germany's Martin Kaymer led the KLM Open at Hilversum by three shots entering the last nine holes.

The US PGA Championship calmly birdied the second and eighth holes after taking a one stroke advantage into the day.

Kaymer, looking for his third win of the season, was 12 under par, with America's former Open Championship winner Todd Hamilton and Paraguayan Fabrizio Zanotti both nine under.

Jose Manual Lara and Tano Goya looked likely to set the clubhouse target - both were eight under with one to play.
