DID YOU KNOW – JOBURG OPEN
·         Defending champion, Charl Schwatzel will attempt to make a successful defence of his Joburg Open title. His record in European Tour events co-sanctioned with the Sunshine is outstanding. He has played in 25 tournaments, making 22 cuts, winning three times, runner-up five times and been placed in the top ten on 13 occasions overall.

·         Should he triumph again, he would join Ernie Els (2002-03-04 Heineken Classic) and Trevor Immelman (2003-04 South African Open Championship), as South African players to make a successful defence of a European Tour title.

·         The Joburg Open has the largest field of the season, with 2010 players; 206 professionals and four amateurs.

·         The Joburg Open is one of only four events on the 2011 Schedule which plays on two or more courses. The other three are the Trophée Hassan II, Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and the Barclays Singapore Open.
