DID YOU KNOW – TROPHÉE HASSAN II
• With his rounds of 68-64-68-66 for a winning 72 hole total of 266 (-25), Rhys Davies claimed the lowest winning 72 hole total in relation to par for the 2010 European Tour season.
• The Hassan II Trophy was first played in 1971 and is Morocco’s longest running sporting event, first won by 1969 US Open Champion, Orville Moody. The tournament is rich in history with no fewer than nine Major Champions prevailing. They are: Moody (1971), Billy Casper (1973, 75), Lee Trevino (1977), Vijay Singh (1991), Payne Stewart (1992, 93), Nick Price (1995), David Toms (1999), Padraig Harrington (2007) and Ernie Els (2008).
• The Golf du Palais Royal is no stranger to staging European Tour events, having hosted the Moroccan Open between 1993-96 and again between 1997-99.
• The 18th hole on the Golf de L’Océan finishes with the 200 yard par three. The only other course to have a short hole as the final hole on the 2011 European Tour International Schedule is at the Pula Golf Club where the Iberdrola Open is played.
