Tournament History

The Open de España returns to Real Club de Golf El Prat for the first time since 1998. In 2010, Alvaro Quiros became the first home winner of Spain's national title for eight years when he triumphed in Seville. Prior to that it was Sergio Garcia who was the last home winner in 2002, and the legendary Seve Ballesteros in 1995. The tournament is one of Europe's oldest, with its first staging dating back to 1912.
