Tournament History

The season's final Major Championship, the US PGA Championship, returns to Atlanta Athletic Club for the first time since 2001, when David Toms held off Phil Mickelson to capture the title. Defending his crown will be Germany's Martin Kaymer, who defeated Bubba Watson in a three-hole play-off to land his maiden Major Championship at Whistling Straits. First played in 1916, when Englishman Jim Barnes won the title, the US PGA Championship is the season's final Major Championship. It has been won by a European Tour Member in each of the last three years - Ireland's Padraig Harrington (2008), Korean YE Yang (2009) and Kaymer last year.
