Two birdies in his first three holes saw Felipe Aguilar snatch the lead as the final round of the Portugal Masters began in Vilamoura.
The Chilean, whose only previous European Tour win came in Indonesia three years ago, holed a five footer at the second then two-putted the par five next for another gain.
At 19 under Aguilar led by one from overnight leader Rafael Cabrera-Bello, in-form Dane Thomas Björn and Swedish Ryder Cup star Peter Hanson.
Björn, looking to join the elite band of players to have won four European Tour events in a single season, holed a 15 foot birdie putt at the first and two-putted the third to be two under through three.
Hanson’s iron play was inspired, and approaches to the second and third led to consecutive birdies, while Cabrera-Bello – playing in the final group on a Sunday for the first time in his career – parred the first two.
