Tournament History

This season marks The European Tour’s 20th visit to the stunning island of Madeira, having headed here every year since 1993, visiting three separate venues in that time. Both Campo de Golfe de Madeira and Santo de Serra have staged the event, but for the past three years the tournament has been played over Porto Santo Golfe. Last year Northern Irishman Michael Hoey picked up his second win on The European Tour, and it would prove the first part of a victory double that would see him go on to triumph again later in 2011 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
