Paul Casey has flown into London after a week of treatment and still hopes to play in the BMW PGA Championship starting at Wentworth Club on Thursday.

The 2009 winner had to pull out of The Players Championship in Florida because of pain in the shoulder he dislocated snowboarding on Christmas Eve.

It led to his withdrawal from the Volvo World Match Play Championship in Spain and cost him his place in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking, where he had been for the past six years.

The European Tour's flagship event features world top three Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood, Donald defending the title he won in a play-off against Westwood last May to go to World Number One for the first time.
