This week European Tour Weekly comes from the beautiful and historic German city of Cologne for the BMW International Open and we’ll be getting the thoughts from the players on the range at the Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof as they prepare for the event.
Twelve months ago Pablo Larrazabal came out on top in Munich after a titanic five hole playoff with fellow countryman Sergio Garcia. It was the popular Spaniard’s second win on The European Tour and he talked to ETW about events twelve months ago whilst on a tour of home town football club Barcelona’s world famous stadium Camp Nou.
Our review comes from the Olympic Club San Francisco, the venue for the 2012 US Open. Defending champion Rory McIlroy had the privilege of pitching the first ball at a San Francisco Giants baseball game in honour of last year’s achievement, and we’ll highlight the best of his baseball action as well as how he, and the other players, fared in what is regarded as the toughest Major of the year.
McIlroy is an experienced campaigner at the highest level but for England’s Matthew Baldwin it’s his first experience of such a high profile event. On the eve of the tournament he shared his thoughts on what he was expecting from the next four days. Baldwin wasn’t the only rookie taking part and we’ll bring news about how all the other first timers fared.
Our second review comes from St Omer in Northern France, where the Saint-Omer Open presented by Neuflize OBC – a co sanctioned event with The Challenge Tour, took place.
Together with all of the latest news and statistics from the Tour, this completes another edition of European Tour Weekly.
