General width and contouring - average width but a lot of movement through the drive zone means that they play narrower
Any specific comments - quite soft after the heaviest rainfall for 60 years in the last month

Type of grass - mix of Meadow grass, Bent and Fescue

Any specific comments - with all the recent rain, the collars are much thicker and more defined than in previous years

Type of grass - mix of Fescue and Rye grass
Height of cut - semi 1.8m wide at 32mm, intermediate 1.8m wide at 60mm, rough 3m maintained rough at 100mm, then 125mm and then unmaintained
Any specific comments - last four weeks of rain have added significant penalty through the rough
Weather
Weather in advance - the last four weeks have seen a lot of rain, record levels of rainfall and unseasonably cool temperatures
Forecast for tournament - mild, mix of clouds with part sunshine, showers and moderate SW winds

Opened - 1990
Course designer - Hubert Chesneau with Robert Van Hagge as a consultant
Special features - stadium style course with lots of elevated viewing positions, water very much a feature and especially over the closing holes which are something of an amphitheatre with water coming into play on 13, 15, 16 and 18 as well as 1 and 2
General playability - fairways will be softer than in recent years after much rain and the greens are firmer this year than for the last few
Undulating / flat - quite a lot of undulation
Tree lined / exposed - mostly exposed
Many / few water hazards - many, see special features above
Changes to the course - none
Other features
- The lakes are full of the largest carp in this part of the world that feed almost exclusively on the grass clippings from the golf course
- This venue has now been confirmed as the venue for the 2018 Ryder Cup
