Ross Fisher was hanging onto his lead midway through the third round of the Portugal Masters at Oceanico Victoria.

Three clear overnight, the 31 year old Englishman three-putted both the par threes on the outward half - the sixth and eighth - and saw his advantage cut to one.

Birdies at the second and ninth saw him turn in a level par 35 and at ten under he was a single shot ahead of playing partner Bernd Wiesberger.

The Austrian, twice a European Tour winner already this season, birdied the eighth and ninth to be two under at the turn.

Sweden’s Fredrik Andersson Hed had moved to nine under but had three-putts of his own at the eighth and ninth and it was Stephen Gallacher who was third on his own at eight under.

The clubhouse lead was held by Australian Andrew Dodt, who after making the cut on the mark at level par fired a seven under 64.

“Probably the best I have played in three years to be honest,” said the former Avantha Masters winner.

“I didn't really miss a shot and I hit it really close. I missed a few putts from short range, as well so it could have been something. But any time you shoot seven under, you're pretty happy with it.”

Fisher hit a fantastic approach to within two feet at the 11th, but Wiesberger matched him and both tapped in for birdie, before each gaining a shot at the long 12th as well.
