Thorbjørn Olesen once again underlined his potential as he completed an impressive Masters Tournament debut with a four under par 68.
The 23 year old Dane, who finished in the top ten at last year’s Open Championship, was a tremendous eight under par for the weekend at Augusta National and set the clubhouse target on Sunday afternoon at four under par.
That looked like being good enough for another top ten Major finish, and Olesen admitted he was delighted with his first showing in Georgia.
“I’ve been playing great the last three days,” he said. “Unfortunately I finished with a bogey but I’ve hit so many good shots and shaped the ball perfectly this week and today I holed some putts also, that was nice.
“It’s incredible, it’s a dream come true for me. It’s a pleasure for to be here and then playing well is just a bonus.”
Olesen fired seven birdies and three bogeys in his round, and when Spain’s Sergio Garcia also dropped a shot at the 18th and Lee Westwood parred it the Dane was assured of his place as top European.
