TRAVELLING TO AND FROM THE BMW PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

FREE PARK AND RIDE SCHEME FOR ALL PUBLIC SPECTATORS ATTENDING THE EVENT RUNNING FROM WEDNESDAY MAY 22 TO SUNDAY MAY 26:


A Park and Ride scheme for spectators is being implemented to relive as much pressure as possible on the road infrastructure around The Wentworth Estate and to ensure a smooth and safe journey to The BMW PGA Championship.

Spectators using the scheme will be dropped off at the new Welcome Pavilion giving immediate access to the superb BMW PGA Championship Tented Village and incorporating a dedicated ticket collection point and other spectator information on arrival.

All Public Ticket holders (INCLUDING ADVANCE TICKET HOLDERS) will be directed to a Park and Ride site.

BMW Owners, Pay to Park and Official Badge Holders will be able to access car parking on site as in previous years. There will be NO parking charge for BMW Owners and Official Badge Holders. If you are travelling in a BMW vehicle you do not need a car park label, just follow the event signage to BMW Owners Car Park. If you have a dedicated car park label please follow the event signage to your car park label. Access and Entry points will be shown on your car park label and also on the event road signage.

When travelling to the Park and Ride Car Parks, please follow the event signage when near the area rather than your Satellite Navigation System. 

THE WEST PARK AND RIDE – POSTCODE SL5 0HD - Click here for a map

· Located in Sunningdale for spectators travelling from the WEST (M3 and M4).

THE EAST PARK AND RIDE – POSTCODE SL4 2BA - Click here for a map

· Located on the Review Ground of Windsor Great Park Crown Estate for spectators travelling from the M25/London/East/North.

ALL CAR PARKING IS FREE AND THERE IS A FREE BUS SHUTTLE FROM THE PARK AND RIDES TO THE TENTED VILLAGE AT THE BMW PGA CHAMPIONSHIP.

Shuttle Bus Hours of Operation:

Tuesday 21st May                No shuttle bus operation. All Parking on Wentworth Estate

Wednesday 22nd May         07.30hrs                -               18.30hrs

Thursday 23rd May              06.30hrs                -               21.00hrs

Friday 24th May                   06.30hrs                -               21.00hrs

Saturday 25th May              06.30hrs                -                21.00hrs

Sunday 26th May                 06.30hrs                -               21.00hrs

The bus shuttle service will run from 06.30hrs – 21.00hrs continuously from Thursday – Sunday.

SPECTATORS ARE REMINDED TO FOLLOW THE EVENT SIGNAGE WHICH WILL BE IN PLACE DIRECTING THEM TO THE CORRECT OFF SITE CAR PARKS FOR ONWARD TRAVEL TO THE BMW PGA CHAMPIONSHIP.

Windsor Great Park and Sunningdale have been selected as the only two official Park & Ride locations for The BMW PGA Championship. There is NO public parking facility at or near The Wentworth site other than for those with accredited vehicle labels.


PARK & RIDE OPERATING TIMES

Both Park & Ride schemes will be open for parking at 06.00 hours. The transfers to The BMW PGA Championship will begin at 06:30. The last bus will depart for the course at approximately 15.00 hours. The last bus to the Park &Ride car parks will leave at approximately 21:00 hours and the Park &Ride car parks will close at 21.30 hours. 

TRAVELLING TO THE EAST PARK & RIDE (WINDSOR GREAT PARK)

POSTCODE: SL4 2BB

·         Located approximately 7 miles from The BMW PGA Championship Welcome Pavilion.

·         Opening Times Competition Days: 06.00am

·         Opening Times Pro-Am: 08.00am

·         Operating Times Pro-Am: First Bus – 08.00hrs and Last Bus – 18.30hrs

·         Operating Times Thursday/Friday: First Bus – 06.30hrs and Last Bus – 21.00hrs

·         Operating Times Saturday/Sunday: First Bus – 06.30hrs and Last Bus – 19.00hrs

·         Journey Time: 15 minutes

Vehicles approaching from the East and South of the venue will access via the M3, M4 and M25, leaving at J13 of the M25. Vehicles can then access the site via the A308 and A322.

Vehicles access the site from the local area will use the A329 and A322 will signs will capture them at strategic junctions.

Cars approaching from the North will use the A308 and A355 which are also accessed from the M4 Motorway.

All routes will be signposted by the AA.

Upon arrival at the East Park and Ride:

• Spectators will be directed to car parks and onwards to the ticket check/purchase and the waiting shuttle buses onwards to The BMW PGA Championship.

•The arrival point for the Shuttle Bus will be at the BMW PGA Championship Welcome Pavilion which is at the entrance of the Tented Village.

• Catering and toilet facilities are available at the East Park & Ride.

• Under normal traffic conditions, the transfer time from the East Park & Ride to The BMW PGA Championship is approximately 15 -20 minutes.

TRAVELLING TO THE WEST PARK & RIDE (SUNNINGDALE)

POSTCODE SL5 0HD

·         Located approximately 3 miles from the Wentworth Estate.

·         Opening Times Competition Days: 06.00am

·         Opening Times Pro-Am: 08.00am

·         Operating Times Pro-Am: First Bus – 08.00hrs and Last Bus – 17.00hrs

·         Operating Times Thursday/Friday: First Bus – 06.30hrs and Last Bus – 21.00hrs

·         Operating Times Saturday/Sunday: First Bus – 06.30hrs and Last Bus – 19.00hrs

·         Journey Time: 10 minutes

 

Cars approaching from the South will access via the M3, leaving at J3. Vehicles can then access the site via the A322 and A30.

Cars approaching from the North will use the A329(M) and A322 which are also accessed from the M4 motorway before joining the A30 to access the site in Sunningdale.

Cars accessing the site from the local area will use the A329, A330 and A322 where signs will capture them at strategic junctions.

All routes will be signposted by the AA.

• Spectators will be directed to car parks and onwards to the ticket check/purchase and the waiting shuttle buses onwards to The BMW PGA Championship.

• Catering and toilet facilities are available at the East Park & Ride.

• Under normal traffic conditions, the transfer time from the East Park & Ride to The BMW PGA Championship is approximately 10-15 minutes.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• Ticket purchase points will be in place at both Park & Rides. Please allow appropriate time in your schedule for these elements and the transfer journey via the Park & Ride.

• Remember the location of your car when it is parked. There will be signage to help you do this.

• Please do not leave personal items on the Park & Ride shuttles. Inquiries regarding any lost property should be directed to the Lost Property/BMW PGA Championship Welcome Pavilion located in the Tented Village. There will be a Left Luggage point adjacent to the Welcome Pavilion at the entrance to the Tented Village.

• Prohibited Parking zones are in place on all roads around the Wentworth Estate and any unattended vehicle will be removed.

• Spectator vehicles will NOT be permitted access to the Wentworth Estate unless it is displaying an accredited car park event label.

TICKET PURCHASE AND CHECKING

Spectators who have not purchased a ticket in advance will be able to purchase their tickets prior to boarding the shuttle bus to the Welcome Pavilion at the BMW PGA Championship. All tickets will be checked at the Welcome Pavilion prior to entering the Tented Village.

CAR PARKING FEES

Please note that all car parking at the Park and Rides is free.

DISABLED CUSTOMERS:

There will be dedicated reserved disabled car park bays at both Park and Ride Car Parks for those spectators who have vehicles indicating a blue badge.

Wheelchair users and those who cannot avail of the FREE public park and ride shuttle scheme should contact our hotline on 0800 023 2557 or email tickets@europeantour.com for further arrangements.

It is reminded that blue badge holders will not automatically be admitted access to the Wentworth estate. Any spectator who requires special assistance and parking on site must contact 0800 023 2557 or email tickets@europeantour.com to ensure they are issued with a car park label to access the event.

PRIVATE LIMOUSINE HIRE/TAXIS

Private limousines and taxis will be directed to the YELLOW ENTRANCE at Wentworth Drive located off the A30 where there is a drop off facility at the junction of Portnall road (red post box). The occupants will then be checked for tickets by CSP staff prior to entering the event.

SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR ADVANCE TICKET HOLDERS:

We would encourage all our spectators to make use of the FREE Park and Ride service, however for those who wish to still park on site, there is an opportunity to pre-pay for a very LIMITED number of parking spaces on site at a cost of £10 per day from Wednesday to Sunday. On site car parking is only available by booking in advance in conjunction with the purchase of advance tickets.

ON SITE CAR PARKING WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FROM WEDNESDAY 22ND MAY – SUNDAY 26TH MAY UNLESS THE VEHICLE HAS A VALID EVENT CAR PARK LABEL 1-8. ALL OTHER VEHICLES WILL BE DIRECTED TO THE PARK AND RIDE.

PAY TO PARK, BMW OWNERS AND OFFICIAL BADGE HOLDERS:

Pay to Park, BMW Owners and Official Badge Holders will be able to park on site as in previous years. There will be NO parking charge for BMW Owners and Official Badge Holders. If you are travelling in a BMW vehicle you do not need a car park label, just follow the event signage to BMW Owners Car Park. If you have a dedicated car park label please follow the event signage to your car park label.

Pre-Paid Parking labels will be issued in advance with 8 label passes. Please follow the event signage to Car Park 8 and Pay to Park.

TRAVEL BY TRAIN:

Virginia Water Station is only a five minute bus trip from the entrance to the Welcome Tent and a FREE shuttle service will run on a continuous loop to and from the event throughout each day from Wednesday. This service will run from 07.00hrs – 20.00hrs.

Virginia Water Station can be accessed easily from London Waterloo, Clapham Junction, Reading, Woking, Weybridge and many other stations. For more details on services and timings please visit www.thetrainline.com.

JUNIOR ADMISSION

Children under 16 will be admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

Tickets for the event will be dispatched 4 to 6 weeks prior to the event.


ARRANGEMENTS FOR TUESDAY 21ST MAY – OFFICIAL PRACTICE DAY:

Due to the reduced number of spectators on the official practice day, ALL parking will be on site at Wentworth. Please follow event signage directing you to the onsite car park.
