It was a case of the leaders trying to cling on to what they had as wet and windy conditions blew the KLM Open wide open on day three in The Netherlands.

Spaniards Miguel Angel Jiménez and Pablo Larrazábal had led on nine under par after two days of good scoring at Kennemer, but strong breezes and driving rain made it a very different story on Moving Day.

Larrazábal ran up a triple bogey seven at the first, and 49 year old Jiménez was one over for the day through four holes after missing the green at the short third and running his chip 12 feet past.

At eight under Jiménez still held a share of the lead alongside France’s Julien Quesne, who was level par for his first four holes.

England’s Oliver Fisher and three-time winner Simon Dyson were both one over for the day to be a shot further back.

Former Irish Open winners Ross Fisher and Shane Lowry were both an impressive three under for the day to join the group on six under par, which also included Larrazábal.

A wild drive cost Larrazábal another shot on the fifth but he made the most of being allowed a free drop from heavy rough on the seventh to make an unlikely birdie on the par five.

At six under he was only two off the lead now shared by Quesne, Jiménez and England's Oliver Fisher, who had celebrated his 25th birthday on Friday with a round of 65.

Fisher had also birdied the seventh after almost reaching the green in two and narrowly missed another birdie chance on the next.

A sizeable crowd was braving the conditions and home favourite Joost Luiten gave them something to cheer as he joined the leaders on eight under par.

Luiten, who won the Lyoness Open in Austria in June, had bogeyed the opening hole but chipped in for a birdie on the sixth and also picked up shots on the ninth and tenth.

That briefly made it a four-way tie at the top of the leaderboard, only for Fisher to bogey the tenth after fluffing his pitch into a greenside bunker.
