After an intriguing first day at Sheshan International, took a statistical – and sometimes sideways – look at the key numbers from day one at the WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai.

65 – Rory McIlroy’s majestic first round score

1 – Bogey all day in a round featuring eight brilliant birdies
