In addition to a prize fund of US$8 million and a share of the US$3.75 million Race to Dubai Bonus Pool, the 60-man field will have their eyes on a stunning hole-in-one prize of a BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé when the 2013 DP World Tour Championship, Dubai - the grand finale of The European Tour’s Race to Dubai - is staged next month.
The hole-in-one incentive on the par-three 17th hole comes courtesy of AGMC-BMW, Group Importer in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates and providers of the event’s Official Car, who last year signed a three-year deal to be associated with the DP World Tour Championship, which will be staged on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 14-17 .
As Official Car provider, AGMC-BMW Group Importer will supply 48 chauffeur-driven BMW 7 Series for the transportation of the players to and from the venue, while a number of vehicles will also be made available to tournament officials.
“As befits its position as the finale of The Race to Dubai, it is our aim to supply the DP World Tour Championship with an official fleet of limousines that truly reflects the tournament’s status in the world of golf,” said Stathis I Stathis, Managing Director, Al Batha Automotive Group.
“These are the top 60 players on The European Tour and we will ensure they are transported in the supreme comfort, safety and style associated with BMW. It is also our pleasure to supply the tournament officials with vehicles from our BMW range and underline the event as a celebration of the season.”
A major supporter of The European Tour since 1989, BMW is the official car of The European Tour, title sponsor of the BMW PGA Championship, the BMW International Open and the BMW Masters presented by SRE Group, and is an Official Partner of The Ryder Cup.
“The name of BMW has been associated with the best in golf for many years, which provides a partnership that offers us a unique platform to engage and communicate with our customers,” added Stathis.
“We are delighted to enter the second year of our latest relationship with the DP World Tour Championship, which we have been involved with since 2010. We have an association not only with golf in general but with golfing events here in the UAE and we are proud to be able to maintain that tradition.”
Tickets for the tournament are free of charge and can be obtained by registering at the official website www.DPWTC.com.
