Xerox Emirates, a long-term supporter of golfing events in the Middle East, will again play a key role in the staging of the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai when The Race to Dubai reaches its grand finale on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
Last year, for the first time Xerox Emirates took on the role of providing key equipment and support for the US$8 million tournament in an agreement that underlined the brand’s support of golf following years of providing similar backing for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and the Dubai Desert Classic.
The DP World Tour Championship, which will be staged from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 November, will again see Xerox Emirates support the Media Centre, the Championship Office, the TV Production Office, the Rules Office and the Chief Marshal’s Office, while the top 60 players in The Race to Dubai battle it out on the Greg Norman-designed course.
Their support also follows hot on the heels of the Grand Final of the 15th Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge won by Will Smith and James Johnstone from Ireland Davenport, who will now take their place in the DP World Tour Championship Rolex Pro-Am on Tuesday 12 November.
“Our support of European Tour events as well as our sponsorship of the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge is all part of our commitment to the professional presentation of tournaments in the region,” said Xerox Emirates General Manager Andrew Horne.
“The tournament officials and event staff need to be able to rely on document and information flow throughout the week. It is our role to provide a high quality of products and services associated with a world-class sporting occasion.”
While Xerox Emirates’ support of the DP World Tour Championship is now in its second year, the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge was first staged in 1997 and has gone from strength to strength winning the title of “Best Corporate Golf Challenge in the Middle East” on two occasions.
“The name of Xerox Emirates is now firmly established as one of the key supporters of golf in the region and we are delighted to have the company on board for 2013,” said Nick Tarratt, European Tour International Director, Dubai Office. “Even though a lot of work is done digitally, we always rely on a steady flow of paper information regarding scores, facts and figures and daily weather reports.
“It is vital that this part of the tournament functions smoothly and the fact that we had an efficient back-of-house operation in 2012 owes a lot to the team at Xerox Emirates.”Free season tickets for the 2013 DP World Tour Championship are available online by registering at the official website www.DPWTC.com
