Weather in advance - the Durban area has received a lot of rain prior to Christmas, but have hardly had any rain the last couple of week, with warm weather and plenty of sunshine lately
Forecast for tournament - 30 per cent risk of rain on a couple of days

General playability - generally regarded as one of the finest courses in South Africa
Undulating / flat - first four and last two holes are very undulating as they are built on sand dunes, and the course is playing firm and fast
Tree lined / exposed - many trees and shrubs on course
Many / few water hazards - very few
Changes to the course - back tee on tenth hole to be used this year, with a lot of tree clearance has done over the winter months

There are a lot of monkeys to be found around the course
