After a fascinating moving day in the UAE, took a numerical, and sometimes sideways, look at the key numbers from the third round of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.

2 – Shots Craig Lee leads by with 18 holes to come

19 – Birdies Lee has made over the first three days in Abu Dhabi

0 – The Scotsman will be going for his maiden European Tour title on Sunday after coming close in losing to Thomas Bjorn in a play-off at the 2013 Omega European Masters

63 – The low round of the day shot by Phil Mickelson – 1 outside Henrik Stenson’s 8 year old course record of 62 – matching Danny Willett’s second round efforts for low round of the week

9 – Birdies in Mickelson’s round, plus 1 eagle and 2 bogeys

41 – Places his third round heroics propelled him up the leaderboard

7 – Nationalities in the top ten following the third round

2 – Shots Rory McIlroy was penalised for an incorrect drop on the second hole, under rule 25-1

238 – Birdies on day three

9 – Eagles during Saturday's play including 6 on the 18th; there were only 5 in total last year and with 18 holes to come there has already been 12 so far in the 2014 event

14 – The hardest hole on the course in the third round, the par 4 averaged at 4.36 and only conceded 2 birdies all day (Peter Hanson and Tom Lewis)

18 – The easiest hole on Saturday, the par 5 averaged at 4.45 and yielded 6 eagles and 30 birdies

15 – The amount of shots between first and last place
