Simon Dyson continued to go well as the second round of the Tshwane Open began in South Africa.

The Englishman held a share of the overnight lead after a seven under par 65 in his opening round - the 36 year old completing his day’s work before Thursday’s play was brought to a premature close by the threat of lightning.

On the completion of the first round home favourite Trevor Fisher Junior matched Dyson’s 65, but the six-time European Tour winner was still holding firm as players went straight back out for round two.

A mixture of five birdies and two bogeys saw Dyson reach ten under for the week with four holes of his round remaining, and he was joined on that mark by Dane Morten Ørum Madsen.

Madsen won the South African Open earlier in the season - one of only three players from outside South Africa to win in the country in the last 13 European Tour events here - and had five birdies in an outward 31 to establish a share of the lead.

Fisher Jnr and Spain’s Carlos Del Moral were tied for second on nine under, with both having reached the turn in their second rounds.
