This week European Tour Weekly comes from Malmo, Sweden, venue for the Nordea Masters. ETW will be on the range at the PGA Sweden National course with all the latest thoughts from the players on the eve of the event.
Last year Mikko Ilonen turned the final round of the Nordea Masters into a victory procession as the Finn won his first European Tour title for six years at Bro Hof Slott. It was also the second time that Ilonen had won the event, after his victory back in 2007. ETW recently caught up with him to take a look back at his third victory on The European Tour 12 months ago.
As always European Tour Weekly will review all of the best of the action from the most recent European Tour event. This week that means a return trip to Wentworth for the BMW PGA CHAMPIONSHIP where the cream of European golf assembled at the testing Surrey venue.
European Tour Weekly was at the Players’ Awards Dinner at the Sofitel Heathrow last week to celebrate another stellar year for The European Tour. Amongst the awards handed out was the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award which went to Peter Uihlein and the Players’ Player Award which was presented to The Race to Dubai winner Henrik Stenson.
For the ninth successive year Walton Heath Golf Club in Surrey hosted the US Open Qualifying. Played over 36 holes, one round on each of the two championship courses, the event always produces drama as players attempt to make it to the US Open at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina next month.
Together with all of the latest news and statistics from the Tour, this completes another edition of European Tour Weekly.
