And that's the end of a great week here at Gut Larchenhof for the 2014 BMW International Open where history was made as Fabrizio Zanotti became the first Paraguayan to win on the European Tour. The Live Blog will be back next week from France and until then, here's our champion.

Fab maiden success

Fabrizio Zanotti became the first Paraguayan to win on The European Tour after he came out trumps following a four-man play-off at the BMW International Open at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof near Cologne.

Day Four in Numbers

1 – Paraguayan winner on the European Tour, Fabrizio Zanotti

5 – Zanotti won the BMW International Open on the fifth hole of the playoff
1 – hole in one at the par three 16th from James Heath to win a brand new BMW vi8

6 – under par for Stenson on the back nine to force his way into the playoff

7 – under par for Rafa Cabrera-Bello on 17 and 18 this week – strong finisher

65 – two seven under par rounds for Fabrizio Zanotti over the weekend

8 – Sergio Garcia birdied the two par fives on the back nine at every attempt this week

0 – amount of birdies third round leader Pablo Larrazábal made between holes 9-12 this week

17 – under par for Thongchai Jaidee in his last three rounds in Cologne

3 – under par propped up the leaderboard at the close of play in Germany in what was a very low scoring tournament

5 – top ten finishes in his last five European Tour events for Henrik Stenson

4.22 – the average for the hardest and easiest holes on the final day. The par four ninth playing the toughest, while the par five 13th succumbed to some impressive golf on day four

Stenson can't make his shot from the bunker fall and the Swede concedes to spark celebrations from Zanotti. His first win on the European Tour is secured!


Fabrizio Zanotti has won the BMW International Open at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof.


Zanotti is within touching distance now as Stenson drops before firing his third shot over the back and into the bunker.

Zanotti still has work to do to make his birdie.


Zanotti is just short of the green. He's stayed dry and that's the main thing. An up and down almost certinaly wins him this tournament.
